Shopping

August 02, 2008

Sick again...but here is some shopping ;-)

Though it was a few short weeks ago that I revealed I had a cold - which in truth has not left - and then on Wednesday last I managed to add to the mix, Gastroenteritis!! Oh yes, I was an idiot, I went to work cramped over in pain cuz it was my Boss's last day at work before 3 weeks leave and there was stuff to do, I call it 'dedication' but really, it was stupidity.
I went to work on Thursday, still cramped over, still making frequent toilet stops. Why?? I still had stuff to do...mmmmmmm well, first time I have had a job where I have been prepared to do that, so in some way this dedication is not wasted but still, mmmmm......
Friday: Well, I had said, you know what, I won't go to work today, I was still in pain but hey, I MUST be strong. Cut to a really painful trips to the powder room and I figured I had best go see a Doctor. So, FINALLY, I left work at 2.30pm yesterday, off to the Doctor before the weekend and yes, Gastroenteritis, "go home and rest for a few days".

So, here I am, been in bed most of the day, feeling like Wolves have been scratching at my insides and living on a diet of anything bland and easily digestible - and normally I am an Organic, ultra fibrous kinda Girl so living on a white rice white bread diet is just YUCKO.

On that note, I figure you have had enough of my tale of woe. How about some shots of crafty shopping?
Last weekend, I made it to the Craft and Quilt Fair in Melbourne and picked up these little goodies...
REALLY likey-likey ALL of them.

First up, Echino fabric purchased from Patchwork on Central Park whoah, SOOOO beautiful, so much so I have NO idea WHAT I will make with it.

It's a FLUEVOG day......

I swear I have had these for AGES and only worn the boots once so far - can't QUITE find the right outfit - and haven't worn the others at all yet but since there is only one place in Australia to buy the fabulous Fluevog shoes, when you like stuff that season you just HAVE to buy up BIG!

These are the sexy calf length corset boots, SOOOOOO comfy....

Ooooohhh, oooohhhh, while I am on the subject, how GOOD do they look with these Vivienne Westwood socks - seriously DO NOT ask how much the socks cost....

For the piece de resistence...aaaaannnndddd....I so can't even walk in these but WHO cares! I've ordered a suit from Anton's to be tailor made in a Sage Green Wool/Silk blend and they will look FAB with it...

What is SO fabulous about these shoes is that they are part hand made and in Portugal, not in Asia and they are SERIOUSLY comfortable, the last is SOOOO well constructed!

They cost $300 upward but if you are a person who really bashes their shoes around they are going to last you forever - MUCH less $ than Manolo's and MUCH higher quality. You can get them at Sole Devotion that now has TWO stores in Melbourne (one in Greville St Prahran and one in Degraves St in Melbourne CBD) and NOWHERE ELSE in Australia! The Gals at Sole Devotion are SOOO the coolest and the BEST so worth a visit to check out all their wonderousness. Just don't buy the Black Body Parts shoes I am hanging out for that are coming in this Summer in my size, or else!!

Seems like a lot of consumerism for a post not long after a 'Go Green' one BUT I think TOTALLY justified. I really only buy twice a year and I don't buy any other shoes, I'm of the philosophy that if you buy well made items you will be disposing of less (& purchasing less too). I have 8 pairs of shoes in total and 7 are Fluevogs and really, they become a collectors item and you will ALWAYS be admired* Did I justify my Shoe shopping enough????? :-)

Blessings, a stuck at home sniffling, KittyB

The Pink Shoes

OK, so I FINALLY picked up my gorgeous Pink shoes (the Campers I raved about a few weeks ago) and now I am not so sure. I have posted some pics of them below so you can have a sneak peek and let me know if they should stay or go:

This final pic shows the pinkies with a painting of mine, Catherine in Aqua. ONE of these days I will get my transparencies scanned into digital format so you can have a peek at my REAL artwork.
This last shot is the most accurate representation of their colour - I am just nott sure if they make my ankles look FAT, aaarrrgghh... What on EARTH can I wear Pink shoes with???!!!

I feel a little like Dorothy only they are PINK...

Oooooohhhh, yesterday, I just couldn't resist putting a lay be on these hopefully you can see the gorgeousness of these Pink Suede Shoes which I just HAD to have within 30 seconds of putting them on my feet (if not, click on the Women's section and check out Sophie <3 <3. And, something which you all don't know yet is that I gave my notice in at work, just a soul destroying place to be and life is too short for that, and the LAST thing you should do when you don't yet have another job is SHOP but a Gal's gotta do* <just in case you don't know what a 'lay by' is it is a like a payment plan over a few weeks. Aussie stores let you pay off your 'must have' purchases over a few weeks so no need to go into debt, like a shopping savings plan and my LIFE saver>.
Went into Alannah's today too, USUALLY fateful but managed to get out without spending anything ( tres unusual) but I do have my eye on a Silk Brocade Skirt which has rosettes and a bustle, yes, a BUSTLE* there is also a TOTALLY divine heart bag and belt along with a few other irresistable items. Ohhhhh, Great Higher Power, PLEASE show me a job I can do that I will LOVE and that will still let me S-H-O-P I FINALLY know who I am and projecting that sense of glamour and fun to the world is just a necessity :))
Blessings
