Minilage*

I'm doing a workshop tomorrow and as part of the workshop process have to bring along gifties for others in the group. So, after one of those days where you just go out wandering for no reason at all, I had an idea to make each person a brooch and came home and invented the 'Minilage". OK, so I know mini collages are NOT my invention but this was the coolest fun EVER!! Check them all out below...



They are 5cm X 5cm, on thin cardboard, with Japanese paper lining the back and then gilt brooch pins on them. I think if I were to make these again I might coat them in Diamond Glaze or UTEE and perhaps put some thin ribbon round the edges. These 'Minilages' are an easy and fun way to introduce a little creativity into my day. This week I think I will be Minilaging away, come join me*

Quotes to Inspire...

One of the guys at work cuts those quotes out of the day to day office calendar's and pins them up on the noticeboard. I was hanging out in his office waiting for a freight quotation when I saw this one:

"One can never consent to creep when one has the impulse to soar" Helen Keller

and my heart skipped a beat. I think it was TOTALLY the fault of this quote that I handed my notice in. Man, when those Guides speak, they speak LOUD and I CANNOT creep any longer!!!

While I was hunting for the exact words to this quote online to post here I found a heap more inspiration:-"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together" Vincent Van Gogh (I need to learn this one, I kinda expect everything to arrive NOW) and "Use what talents you have, the woods would have little music if no birds sad their song except those who sang best" Reverend Oliver G Wilson (I need this one also, I am WAY too much of a perfectionist).
